Offshore wind company secures contracts for two service vessels

In April 2022, Norwind Offshore signed contracts with Vard for the construction of two further service vessels, for the offshore wind industry. This brings the company’s new-build program to a total of five vessels. Furthermore, the parties have agreed on a deal which provides Norwind Offshore with the options for two more vessels.

The new vessels are of VARD 4 19 design, developed by Vard Design in Ålesund in close cooperation with Norwind Offshore. These vessels are specifically designed for global service and maintenance operations for offshore wind farms and are in line with the company’s green profile.

The planned delivery for these vessels is within the first quarter of 2024 and the second quarter of 2025.

–Since its inception in 2021, Norwind Offshore has been very well received by offshore wind operators. This gives us the foundation to continue our efforts into the future, says CEO in Norwind Offshore, Svein Leon Aure. Our first vessel will commence operations in 2022, and by 2025 our fleet will increase by a further two vessels. With these latest contracts, we will within a short amount of time possess a fleet of five vessels, and be one of the leading companies within offshore wind.
